Collaboration with suppliers – measures, activities, workflows

CollaborationThe ASTRAS Collaboration module enables you to model typical workflows between internal users and your suppliers’ contacts, thereby ensuring that both activities within your purchasing organization and external communication with your suppliers are carried out systematically and are transparent and regulated. Whether they are used for quality management or supplier development, the ASTRAS activities give you the opportunity to implement your process standards as effectively as possible, making sure that they are structured, centralized, and documented.

Examples of activities in ASTRAS: Complaints procedures, z.B. 8D reports, QVP/APQP– and PPAP processes can ideally be initiated, conducted, monitored and analyzed using ASTRAS activities. ASTRAS helps you to manage deadlines and responsibilities and automatically validates and evaluates answers. In addition to the tool-supported process, you can benefit from seamless documentation of all measures. Workflows for initial sample test reports (EMPB), test certificates, supplier (long-term) declarations and other material master-specific data and documents can ideally be mapped using module activities.

Every activity is precisely defined by its workflow – this guarantees that every step required in the process is completed. The workflow is also supported by e-mails. For example, an e-mail is sent when activities are created or edited (to the next responsible user and the holder) and to provide a daily status report.

Typical repeated activities are stored in the ASTRAS template library and are therefore available to your entire organization.

Areas of application:

  • Quality management processes
  • Supplier audits
  • Material-specific information

ASTRAS monitors deadlines for milestones in all activities and gives you detailed options for controlling all the activities with the aid of the in-depth role and rights concept.

Milestone

Typical repeated activities are stored in the ASTRAS template library and are therefore available to your entire organization.

ASTRAS activities are used for collecting data and are also a form of reporting to track progress. The individual stages of the process can only be completed if the relevant information is submitted, and the activity also serves as an action plan showing steps that are not yet finished.

Quality management use case

For quality management, ASTRAS offers you practical functions that support your processes, enabling you to perform quality processes in an efficient, structured and flexible manner to meet the requirements of relevant standards. Access to all QA-relevant information enables you to respond in a targeted manner to implement a continuous improvement process because you can take the corrective action required based on the immediate feedback.

The data collected are available to you in the Supplier Management module. Monitoring the performance of activities enables consistent tracking and allows you to take any subsequent development measures.

Examples of templates in quality management: 8D reports, APQP, PPAP, EMPB

This is how to map your quality standards in ASTRAS: you can ideally initiate, carry out, track, and analyze 8D reports and APQP and PPAP processes perfectly using ASTRAS activities. ASTRAS helps you to manage deadlines and responsibilities and automatically validates answers. In addition to the tool-supported process, you can benefit from seamless documentation of all supplier activities and processes.

Aspects of ASTRAS quality management:

  • Mapping of processes such as 8D, APQP, and PPAP
  • Design customized activities and processes (e.g. based on the Six Sigma improvement process)
  • Manage deadlines with a reminder function
  • Structured data storage for supplier audits

Workflow defines all possible statuses of the activity (workflow nodes) and regulates which people or roles are processing the activity at which point in time. The workflow roles define the people involved and their authorizations. Predefined forms known as templates ensure that all information is collected reliably at each stage of the workflow.

Every activity is precisely defined by its workflow – this guarantees that every step required in the process is completed. The workflow is also supported by e-mails. For example, an e-mail is sent when activities are created or edited (to the next responsible user and the holder) and to provide a daily status report.
